Vernon ISD is gearing up for the 2023-24 school year and we have several open teaching positions. Check out the information below.
Vernon ISD is blessed to have parents of students who support and appreciate our teachers and staff. To celebrate the end of each 6 weeks, parents at each of our campuses do something a little special for our teachers and staff. As the latest sixth weeks came to an end last week, McCord staff received fruit cups, while Central and Shive parents stocked the teacher’s lounge with snacks, and Middle School staff received handmade cookies and survival kits. Vernon High School staff received hand-delivered treats of their choice. Our students also love to see familiar faces at their schools during their school day. Vernon ISD is very thankful for the support shown to our teachers and staff. We love having parents, families and community members involved in school activities. If you would like to participate, please contact Kori Eakin, Family and Community Engagement Coordinator, at 940-553-1900, ext. 2229 or at kori.eakin@visdtx.org.
The District 7-3A Track & Field Meet will be held Monday and Thursday in Iowa Park. Here is the schedule for the meet.
First graders at T.G. McCord Elementary closed out their last day before the Easter break with an Easter egg hunt. While the first graders were having an egg hunt on their playground, the kindergarten students were hunting eggs on their playground. All the students had plenty of eggs in their baskets when they returned to their classrooms.
Just a quick reminder.
This is Paraprofessional Appreciation Day and we want to recognize all of our paraprofessionals. You guys rock!!

You may ask, "How can I do that?"
Well, we have put together an amazing YEARBOOK for our 2022/2023 school year and want you and your student to have the opportunity to get one!

A few more photos from our Community Resource Event held Saturday morning at the VHS Cafeteria. This was the first resource event sponsored by Vernon ISD, and we're already looking forward to hosting the event again next year.
There were a variety of activities for the kids at the Community Resource Event held Saturday morning at the VHS Cafeteria. Firemen from the Vernon Fire Department explained to the youngsters how things operated on the department's ladder truck, and youngsters also had fun in the bounce house. Youngsters enjoyed painting and drawing, blowing bubbles and getting paint tattoos on their face. Vernon ISD Superintendent Dr. Kermit Ward also decided to get in on the tattoo action.
